The Journey Of Your Data! From Your Sensors To Your Dashboards!

By Miroslav Janeski on 13-Jun-2019 12:01:00

“The Journey Of Your Data! From Your Sensors To Your Dashboards!” is the title of the talk I gave at the last industry-science meetup organized by the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN) and Energy Valley. The meetup aimed to create an arena where regional high-tech industry players from the energy and engineering sector can meet and interact with strategic research initiatives, interdisciplinary research, and science groups from USN. Since the goal of the meetup was to show results from applying the latest state-of-art research in solving real industry problems, we have decided to give a technology introduction to Qlarm. My talk was a high-level journey on making the most important architectural design decisions that one must make while designing a solution like Qlarm.

4 kW subsea VSD qualified

By Dr. Martin Siljan on 28-May-2018 11:42:00

We are happy to announce that our 4 kW subsea VSD this spring has passed the qualification tests according to ISO 13628-6!

The 4 kW version has been developed mainly for small subsea pumps, but can run practically any synchronous or asynchronous motor.

The qualification testing is performed to verify that it can tolerate the conditions it may experience during transport, installation and operation subsea. The unit has been through the following qualification tests:

  • Shock
  • Sinusoidal vibration
  • Random vibration
  • High temperature
  • Low temperature
  • Thermal cycling

The random vibration test, with 6 grms for 2 hours is by far the toughest of the qualification tests. In practice, this kind of vibration is far more than the unit will experience in normal use, but it proves the robustness of the product.

Nebb has previously qualified the 45 kW model according to the same standard. We also have a 400 kW model under development. See our subsea VSD page for more information about our variable speed drives.

NDC Oslo 2017 Impressions

By Miroslav Janeski on 05-Jun-2017 11:14:00

A couple of weeks ago, I had a great opportunity to visit NDC Oslo 2017. NDC stands for Norwegian Developers Conference and is one of Europe`s largest conferences for .NET & Agile development. The first conference was held in Oslo in 2008 and today NDC Conferences are 5-day events with 2 days of pre-conference workshops and 3 days of conference sessions and are being held in Oslo, London, Sydney, and Copenhagen. What makes the NDC different is the quality and the quantity of the speakers and the topics it offers. Having this in mind I must say it is always a challenge to select the right sessions or to choose one session over several popular ones.
